Terms of Service

Short, fair, and honest.

We don't hide anything in fine print. Here's what the service is, what it costs, and the limits of what we can do for you.

Status

Draft v0.1 — pending legal review before public OAuth / payment launch. Terms below describe how the service actually works today. A lawyer-reviewed version will replace this before we open paid memberships at scale.

1. What you're using

My Teen's World is a parenting publication: a weekly emailed reading and a searchable library of trends affecting American teens. The free tier gives you the welcome reading (Reading Zero), your first Friday Reading customized to your family, and the first 12 trends. The paid tier gives you every Friday Reading after the first, the full archive, and all 150 trends re-ranked to your family.

2. Pricing and billing

3. What we're not

This is the part to read carefully.

My Teen's World is a publication, not a medical service, not therapy, not a substitute for talking with your child's doctor or a licensed mental-health professional. The readings translate what the science says into plain English; they do not diagnose your child or prescribe treatment. If your teen is in crisis, call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24/7) or 911 for immediate danger.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the site for your own family's benefit and not to:

We may suspend or end accounts that violate these terms.

5. Content ownership

All readings, trends entries, and original images on the site are © My Teen's World. You may share excerpts with attribution and a link back; you may not republish full readings without written permission. Third-party content quoted in the readings (academic studies, news reports, screenshots) belongs to its respective owners and is used under fair use for educational commentary.

6. Your content

If you send us a question, story, or other content (e.g., via email), we may quote it anonymously in a future reading to illustrate a pattern. We will never identify you by name without your explicit written agreement.

7. Account termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except for the minimum we're required to retain for tax/payment-record purposes (Stripe handles those records on its side).

8. Limitation of liability

We do our best to provide accurate, useful, and timely content. We cannot guarantee that any specific reading will apply to your family's situation, and we are not liable for any decisions you make based on what you read here. Use the readings as one input among many; talk with a professional when the situation warrants it.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We'll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes (e.g., pricing), send a one-time email notice to your registered email before the change takes effect.

10. Governing law

(Jurisdiction placeholder — to be finalized with counsel. Pouya and Arash, please confirm whether terms should be governed by a US state (California is common for US-focused publications) or by Ontario / British Columbia, given the CAD ad-spend records and your Canadian operations.)
